Welcome.

Magic Carbon---do you know who invented it? Meet Mardel Rein and learn about her other cool inventions for metal clay artists.

Yay! No more need to mix the clay laboriously ourselves! Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has brought PMC Sterling to market. Lisa Cain, along with 4 other artists share the results and trials of learning to work with this new metal clay.

Cover Story: Its not traditional, but neither are you! Metal Clay at your wedding! We asked our readers to share jewellery they have made for weddings. Images came in from all over the world!

"Our last issue explored several ways to incorporate glass into metal clay jewellery. In this issue we focus on combining metal clay with polymer clay, an inexpensive and versatile medium that can be used with many of the same tools as metal clay. I hope these projects will inspire you to incorporate polymer clay in your metal clay designs in new ways that add colour and interest to your work.

Metal clay always will be the primary focus of our magazine. But as artists our interests are evolving and our readers are looking to add more traditional metalsmithing techniques and other media to their repertoire of skills. As a result of looking at trends and our reader survey, we are bumping up the skill level of projects, adding more media and increasing the range of jewellery making techniques in our magazine. I hope the projects continue to interest and inspire you to try something new. As always, we look forward to your feedback and ideas and would love to see photos of your pieces based on MCAM projects. In fact, why not submit an article proposal? Our magazine is created entirely by artists for artists--so join us and send in photos or articles."

Thank you for your
continued support and please
enjoy this issue!
