I HOPE YOU LIKE THE COVER IMAGE OF OUR NEW ISSUE AS MUCH AS I DO. Occasionally we have a chance to photograph the jewellery for the cover on a model. This is not the norm for a magazine about making jewellery, but I just love to see jewellery on a person—not only to see the scale, but more importantly to see the piece as it was meant to be seen. Imagine viewing the latest fashion lines pinned to flat boards and carried down the runway rather than brought to life on models! Like clothing, jewellery—even art jewellery—is designed to be worn on the body.
We have a lovely range of mixed media-themed articles in this issue. Some jewellery represents a quiet maker focused on tiny and beautiful details,
while other designs are full of whimsy and character. Whatever style of jewellery you make, I hope that you enjoy the entire creative process and that you are lucky enough to see your work being worn and enjoyed.
We were thrilled to be a part of the testing process of the new clay Metal Adventures has just released through Rio Grande. See our readers’ experiments and note our next contest. One lucky reader will win ten 200g packages of new WHITE COPPRclay™.
